BEGINNINGS 2023 - ongoing
Like an organism, “Beginnings” moves and reacts to its environment, and continues to grow. It has been worn, danced in, and has taken root in various corners and spaces– currently, it takes over the ICA SF bathroom. I crocheted long, vibrant chains to form yokes, collars, and viscera-like sinews, evoking a primordial or bodily presence. This work continues to change as it is a living document of personal research with its form. It is continuously being activated by my body, that of the viewer and its location.
